Personal CRM

I built a personal CRM to track people I meet.

Okay so as a sales practice when I started selling in 2019 I knew that remembering details always has an upside.

And like my favourite fictional character Jack Reacher says:

YARN | In an investigation, details matter. | Reacher (2022) - S01E01 Welcome to Margrave | Video clips by quotes | 5ffc5b0c | 紗

Plus in general it shows people that you're intelligent and that you are listening to what they say (duhh).

But no, on a level it also always used to bug me that I would recognise someone and couldn't remember their name even if I'd 100% been told by them.

Plus its annoying and embarrasing to ask more than like twice.

So beyond getting better at just remembering names (which I have done tbf) I thought it would be awesome to have a place where I can just look back in case.

So I built one with Claude.

It's kind of basic but also pretty intuitive.

I didn't care about the whole front end. So I used integrated it with Notion.

The cool aspect is that is can research people and find details that they may not have told me.

I get claude to run a research agent in the background based on their full name and then it gives me options to confirm who they are, I can also use this to search facebook data and get an understanding of things like birthdays and other interesting stuff.

Okay it sounds a bit nosey and weird when you put it like that but the stack is pretty cool and I keep track of it for my own personal gain.

Each person gets a name, a business or personal category, their company and role, the date and way we met, a location, tags like founder, investor, gym or boxing, notes on anything I'd otherwise forget, and a follow-up box. if I think they could be someone do business with someday.

Say I meet someone who rebuilds cars, I keep track of it.

Or I meet a guy who runs an email agency, I track it.

Maybe I meet someone who's been to live in America, I remember that.

Now if I need to get my car fixed, get info on how to send good emails, or get a visa for America (that one won't happen), I have someone I can ask.

Not only that but with it connected to Claude I can query it. With all my contacts in one database I can ask Claude things like:

"What was the guys name moving to Thailand?"

"Who did I meet at the gym who runs an email agency?"#

"Do I know anyone who works in banking for that new project?"

The stack

Interface: Claude on your phone or laptop, by voice or text. It's where you log people and ask questions.

AI layer: Claude, with tool calling through MCP connectors. It understands what you said and decides which tools to run.

Data layer: Notion databases (People, Learnings, Gym) linked with relations. They store everything in structured, queryable records.

Research layer: a web search API pointed at public LinkedIn profiles. It finds and checks people's profiles (enrichment).

Automation layer: scheduled tasks. They run follow-up reminders and re-check profiles on a timer.

It's a great little tool. Here's a snapshot of what it looks like.

I researched this and found a tool basically doing the same (in fact there's many)

Like getdex.com which does approximately $330,000 in revenue.

Not too shabby if you ask me.
